Compliance program framework

The QUT compliance program was established by University Council in 2002 to administer and manage the University's statutory obligations. The program is based on the Australian Standard AS3806-2006 Compliance Programs which provides a best practice guide for compliance programs in Australia.

The compliance program forms an integral part of the University's Governance Framework by articulating and delivering QUT's commitment to robust compliance processes.

The compliance program framework encompasses the following elements:

Register of Compliance Obligations

The Register of Compliance Obligations is a comprehensive list of QUT's statutory obligations. It designates officers' responsibility for compliance and details the procedures taken by organisational areas to ensure compliance. The Register is continually updated as required.

The Register is available for viewing by responsible officer or classification of obligation.

The Policy and Compliance Manager in Governance Services is responsible for maintaining the Register of Compliance Obligations. Any modifications or corrections to the Register should be reported to the Policy and Compliance Manager on 3138 2902 or compliance@qut.edu.au.

Management of compliance

Guidelines to managing compliance obligations and the management and reporting of non-compliance incidents are provided for responsible officers.

Administration of the program

The Registrar is responsible for the compliance program. The Policy and Compliance Manager in Governance Services is responsible for administering the program.
