If you believe that QUT has not dealt with your personal information in accordance with Information Standard 42 - Information Privacy, you may make a complaint to QUT.
Making a privacy complaint
A complaint must be made in writing within six months from the date when the privacy breach was suspected to have occurred.

You may also ring the Privacy Contact Officer on (07) 3138 2902 for advice on the privacy complaint procedures.
What happens next?
Your complaint will be acknowledged by the Privacy Contact Officer in writing within 14 days. The Privacy Contact Officer will refer the complaint to the head of the relevant organisational unit for investigation, who will provide a written response to the complaint within 60 days. The response will advise you of the conclusions reached following investigation of the complaint and any action that will be taken for resolution.
Review of University's response to privacy complaint
If you do not agree with the University's response to your privacy complaint, you can apply in writing to the Registrar for an internal review. Applications for internal review must be made within 28 days of you receiving the University's response to your complaint. The postal address for internal review applications is:

The internal review will be completed within 60 days of receipt of your application, and the Registrar will provide you with a written response to your internal review request.
