Privacy Protocol 10 – requests for access to the personal information of a deceased staff member or student
In general, it is QUT’s practice to provide the same respect and level of protection for privacy of the personal information of deceased staff members or students as it is required to provide during life under Information Standard 42 – Information Privacy.
Normally any requests to access the personal information of deceased staff members or students should be referred for consideration to the Freedom of Information Officer or extension 82902.
No personal information should be disclosed until the request has been considered by the Freedom of Information Officer, who will determine whether or not the request should be managed in accordance with the University’s FOI procedures.
