Privacy Protocol 8 - requests issued via court documents for access to personal information
This protocol relates to notices of non-party disclosure, subpoenas or similar court documents, where QUT is not a party to the court proceedings. A court document will be signed and sealed by a court registrar and issued under the rules of the court.
Under Information Privacy Principle 11, QUT may disclose personal information if the disclosure is required or authorised by or under law. Any requests to release personal information under a court document should be promptly referred to the Registrar’s Office for action. There can be serious consequences for failure to comply with the requirements of court documents. Further information can be found on the QUT Legal Office frequently asked questions (QUT access only).
Where QUT is named as a party to the proceedings (for example, as a defendant or respondent), you should contact the Legal Officer immediately on extension 81911 (or the Registrar’s Executive Officer on extension 81056 if the Legal Officer is unavailable).
