QUT is moving increasingly towards electronic transactions and service delivery for both staff and students, and this is occurring within a broader legislative environment placing greater emphasis on best practice management of records, including the management of technology-dependent records in their native formats. QUT also has data storage needs for documents and records in electronic formats (notably emails) which necessitate an integrated approach to records capture, management and disposal. QUT's records program has been based on traditional capture of records in paper format, whether or not they originate in this state, and this is unsustainable in the current working environment.

The objective of this project is to implement a records strategy and supporting technology that is positioned to address QUT's compliance obligations, to enhance business and operational efficiency and to manage high risk records, in an environment where electronic records and tranactions are becoming our usual way of doing business.

The corporate Document and Record Management System supporting this strategy is TRIM Context.
